Fri, Aug 9: Denali National Park

This tour was on the regular shuttle bus.  Regular bench seats, no lunch (so we got lunch boxes from hotel restaurant), and narration is optional, depending on the driver.  Our driver gave a very good narration.  We took the Wonder Lake shuttle, which goes farther into the park than the tour bus.

It rained most of the morning.  Animals sightings are combined into the Aug 7 post.

In the forground, the grassy lumpy part is actually a glacier underneath.

At times, the bus seems to hang over the side of the road.

We ate dinner at 229 Park Road (229 is the mile marker – the location of everything on the Park Road from Anchorage north is identified using the mile marker).  Very good.  Expensive.
