We drove to Seward. Most of the day it was dark and raining.
We stopped
at a park along Turnagain Arm inlet. Turnagain Arm gets its name from when Captain cook explored it looking for the Northwest passage, went up the other Arm and turned when that led to a river, only to have Turnagain Arm lead to a river also, necessatating a turn, again.
Stopped
at Bird Point, where at the right times you can see the bore tide come in as a
3 – 6 foot wave across the Arm. We were
not there at the right time.
Took Portage Glacier road. Saw some Salmon either before or after spawning.
