Good
weather, sunny in 70’s. Arrived
in Ketchikan .
We took
an excursion through the Misty Fjords, a boat in and a plane back. We did this the last time we were here; it is
such a beautiful ride. The 2 hour boat ride is pretty, the 20 minute plane ride is spectacular. We were very fortunate as it is often very rainy here…but as you can see we had spectacular sunny views, particularly in the flight back.
This
is a volcanic plug, created when magma hardened within a vent on an active
volcano.
A
column of igneous rock formed by congelation of lava in the conduit of a
volcano and later exposed by the removal of surrounding rocks.
Not
as many waterfalls, because they have had such nice days, no rain.
